Heller 1/72 Fouga CM.170 Magister

This is the review of the Fouga Magister from Heller in 1/72.

The Fouga Magister was designed in the late 40s, as a jet powered primary trainer. It was simple and effective, and saw brief combat. La Patrouille de france used it as an aerobatic display team, and was retired from duty in the early seventies. Some private owners still fly it, which show its qualities, despite its age.

The heller kit is a bit old... But still good! I believe it is still being made and sold. Cockpit has enough detail, for what it can be seen from outside.

Landing gear wells are ok. My landing gear is not the original, as I had lost it and had to repair/overhaul the model recently.

2 Versions can be chosen, but there are many airforces who used it, which mean you can choose to do custom decals to have something different, if you wish.

What amazed me is that these decals were the original, and were applied recently, they were perfect after more than 20 years of waiting, which is astonishing! (seen much more recent decals cracked after few years...).

So, if you do get an old box, an old version, you should buy it, and it is probable that everything will go perfectly like if it was new!
